Our oral and maxillofacial surgery office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Our office is available 24 hours a day for emergencies. Emergencies may be seen the same day, depending upon the nature of the problem.

At the time of your consultation

Please assist our office staff by providing the following information: -Surgical referral slip -Medical or dental insurance -A list of medications presently being taken -Any x-rays if applicable You may request that your general dentist or physician forward any x-rays they have taken prior to your initial appointment. If time does not permit, please pick up the x-rays and bring them to our office. Any additional x-rays that may be necessary can be taken in our office.

IMPORTANT

A parent or legal guardian must accompany all patients under the age of 18 to all consultation and surgical visits. A responsible adult driver must also accompany any patient who is having a surgical procedure requiring sedation. This person must remain in the office during the procedure and be able to drive the patient home. It is mandatory for all patients undergoing IV anesthesia for surgery to undergo a physical examination and pre-operative consultation by Dr. Shabtaie. You must not have anything to eat or drink (including water) for seven (7) hours before surgery. If you have any medical conditions that cause you concern about fasting for that amount of time, please contact Dr. Shabtaie. Please notify the doctor and office staff of any recent changes in health history, or if you have any medical condition that may be of concern prior to any surgery (i.e., high blood pressure, diabetes, etc.) or any medication you are on (i.e., aspirin, heart medications, blood thinners, etc.)
